Outpatient services provide specialized therapies to individuals of all ages. The goal is to help people receive the treatments and procedures they need without the expense and trauma of a hospital stay.
There are many types of outpatient services, addressing a wide range of needs. Some hospitals maintain community "satellites" in an attempt to make health care more accessible and convenient.
Whatever outpatient services you need, make sure that the outpatient facility is licensed and staffed with board-certified specialists. Choose a facility that provides the treatments you need in an environment that makes you feel comfortable.
Outpatient services are often covered by an individual's health insurance or through Medicare, if the person is eligible. Find out whether your policy requires preauthorization or a referral. If so, contact your insurance company and find out what you need to do to obtain one. If you do not have medical insurance and/or you are concerned about paying for your procedure or treatment, ask for an estimate in advance and request a payment plan.
Contact your local State office if you have questions or would like to talk with someone in person about your situation. Guam GetCare staff are available to help you.
